Montra — “Where did my money go?”

App: Montra (“Where did my money go?”)
Last updated: July 3, 2026

Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Obada (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use the mobile application Montra (the “App”).

Who we are

Summary

Information the App processes

Information you provide in the App

The App allows you to record and manage personal financial information, which may include:

This information is processed on your device to provide the App's functionality.

Device storage

The App stores data locally using the device's application storage (SharedPreferences). We do not receive this data automatically.

Export, import, and sharing

If you use backup export (JSON), transaction export (CSV), or share features, files may be saved to a location you choose or sent through another app (e.g. email, cloud storage). Those actions are initiated by you. We do not control third-party services you use to store or transmit exported files.

Permissions

The App can access your camera and photo library only when you choose to attach a receipt image to a transaction. Selected images are stored locally on your device alongside your other data and are never uploaded. File access is only requested when you explicitly trigger an import or export action. The App does not request microphone, location, or contacts access.

Data we collect on our servers

We do not operate backend servers that collect or store your Montra financial data, and we do not use analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising SDKs in the App. We do use a third-party subscription-management service (RevenueCat) to verify purchases; it receives subscription/purchase data only, never your financial records — see Payments and subscriptions below.

Payments and subscriptions

Montra offers optional subscriptions. Purchases are processed by your platform's app storeGoogle Play Billing on Android or the Apple App Store on iOS — so we never receive or store your payment card details, billing address, or store-account information. Payment processing is handled by the store under its own policy (Google / Apple).

To verify purchases and restore them across reinstalls, the App uses RevenueCat, a third-party subscription-management service acting on our behalf. When you view subscription options or make a purchase, RevenueCat receives purchase and subscription data — for example the product purchased, its renewal/active status, and an anonymous, app-generated identifier — together with basic device information. RevenueCat does not receive your accounts, transactions, loans, notes, or any other financial data you record in the App; that data never leaves your device. RevenueCat processes this information under RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions or App Store → Subscriptions.

Third-party services

The only third-party service that receives data from the App is RevenueCat, used to process and verify subscriptions as described above; it receives purchase/subscription data only, never your financial records. App-store billing (Google Play / Apple) processes your payment. File-picker and share-sheet functionality is provided by your operating system only when you choose to use those features.

Children's privacy

Montra is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, contact us and we will advise on local deletion steps (e.g. uninstalling the App and clearing app data in device Settings).

Data retention and deletion

Security

We design the App to keep your information on your device. Your financial records (accounts, transactions, and loans) are encrypted at rest using a key held in your device's secure hardware store (Android Keystore / iOS Keychain).

You can also enable an optional App Lock that requires a PIN — and, if you choose, biometric unlock (Face ID / fingerprint). Biometric authentication is handled entirely by your device's operating system; Montra never accesses, receives, or stores your biometric data or your device passcode.

You remain responsible for overall device security and for anyone with access to your device or to files you export (exported backups are not encrypted, so store and share them carefully).

Your rights

Because all data is stored locally on your device, most requests (access, correction, deletion) can be fulfilled by you directly using in-app tools and device settings. Contact us at [email protected] if you need assistance.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version at the same URL and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.

Disclaimer

Montra is a personal finance tool for your own records. It is not a bank, lender, accountant, or financial advisor. Nothing in the App or this policy constitutes financial, legal, or tax advice.
